Beautiful guitar - well played. Interesting to me, I've heard you get very similar sounds out of your Telecasters which are radically different guitars. Perhaps lending credence to the 'tone is in the fingers' saying.

how about triad use in a tune

I preferred the flats, and admire how articulate the other commentators are in describing why they felt the way they do. I use flats on my ‘Go to’ Gretsch Tenny, but can’t bring myself to fit anything but rounds to my Strat and Tele.

Lots of good tips here! For years I've used a solid-state Henriksen JazzAmp which I really love with my archtop and my Gretsch, but consistent with your experience, my Fenders sound terrible through it. I love your effortlessly relaxed chord-melody playing; most of us sound like we're doing pushups when we try that.
